Why connect SMTP and IMAP Servers? #
This approach allows you to send messages from your domain, building trust with future customers and brand awareness. And it allows you to combine outreach through Rainex.GetLeads with your current communication with customers and use a proven and familiar service.
How to connect Servers? (using gmail as an example). #
To set up Rainex. GetLeads connection to your email provider’s SMTP and IMAP servers, you need to fill in details such as:
For SMTP it is: server address, port number, connection type (SSLTLS or STARTTLS), login, password.
For IMAP it is: server address, port number, login, password.

Connecting the gmail SMTP server #
- To get started, go to https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en
Scroll to Option 2: Send email with the Gmail SMTP server, copy the server address, port.
Select the connection type in Rainex.Getleads depending on which of the two ports you copied.
Specify the mail address itself as the login.
- To get the password, go to the page https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords
Create a new application password with any name (e.g. Rainex.GetLeads) or use the current application password. Copy the password and paste it into the SMTP configuration form in Rainex.GetLeads.
Connecting the gmail IMAP server #
- To do so, go to mail.google.com
Click on the settings icon and the See all settings button. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. In the IMAP access field, check Enable IMAP.

Go to IMAP fetching and copy IMAP Host as the server address and IMAP port as the connection port.
For login, simply use your email address.
