Rainex provides you with the opportunity to make the customization of your Customer Portal absolutely tailored to your company.
Please note that this is an additional service that complements your plan for a fee, i.e. it is an addon.
To start using your own domain for the Customer Portal, you need to take a few simple steps!
- Notify us
Notify us of your intention to connect the domain by sending an email to support@rainex.io or contact us in any other way. This step is the only optional one, but it will allow you and us to make the connection more optimized. Thus, we will have the opportunity to prepare everything necessary for the fastest connection and help you with the following items in case of difficulties.
- Buy a domain
Buy any domain that you find suitable for your company to use in the Customer Portal.
- Add a DNS record
Log in to your personal account on the website of the domain provider of your choice. Add one of the following DNS records to your control panel.
An A record which points to Rainex Portals service IP: custom.com. 86400 IN A 143.244.207.205
OR
A CNAME record which points to your customer portal subdomain: custom.com. 86400 IN CNAME custom.rainex-portal.io
Please note, replace the word custom, inserted here for the example, with the purchased domain name.
- Define the domain certificate
Decide on a certificate for your new domain. You can buy an SSL certificate that will be required for HTTPS to work on your domain. If you don’t care about HTTPS, you can use a free certificate from Lets Encrypt. For the free certificate, skip the next step and move on to the last one.
- Get the domain keys
Purchase a certificate for your domain from your domain provider. Depending on the provider, you will receive a file with the certificate itself (aka the public key) and a private key file or multiple chain key files.

- Send the necessary data
Let us know in any convenient way the domain you want to use (custom.com), the Customer Portal you want to use it for (custom.rainex-portal.io), and the type of your certificate. If you are using a purchased SSL certificate, please attach all the certificate files (the certificate itself, private key and chain keys, if any) to the email.
