Stripe #
You have two options to connect to Stripe. Click on the Stripe icon on the payment gateways page. If you already have an account, select connect to existing account in the pop-up window. If you haven’t worked with Stripe yet, choose to create an account. Now, more about each option.
So, you click Connect to existing account and you’ll be redirected to the Rainexio, LLC partners with Stripe for secure payments page.
Here you just need to enter your business account details, authorize and confirm the account connection. In your Rainex account, Stripe will be connected.
To connect Stripe, you can create an account that will immediately connect to Rainex.
Click Create one and you will also be taken to the Rainexio, LLC partners with Stripe for secure payments page.
Enter your business account signup email and come up with a password.
Verify your account with a message to your phone number, use an authenticator app, i.e. QR code and email address verification or a security key.
In your Stripe account, click activate payments and fill in your business details, including sensitive data that will be securely stored on the Stripe side.
When the account creation is complete, you will see a prompt in your personal account to connect your Stripe account to Rainex. Complete the connection and start billing through Rainex.
If after connecting your Stripe account, you see an error stating that payments are disabled, please go to your Stripe account and finish setting it up.
If you have more than one Stripe account, please make sure you have connected the correct one by clicking on the Stripe window in your Rainex account and verifying the Account ID. To find the Account ID in your Stripe account, click on the name in the upper left corner and click Edit. In the window that appears, click Account settings and on the page you will be transferred to you will find the necessary information in the upper right corner.
Once you’re transferred to your Stripe account, you’ll see a warning bar.
You can click view details to check what information is already in the account and what needs to be added. There will be FAQs to help you.
Click Add Info and on the edit page a red box will highlight the information you need to add to enable payments.
Click Update and enter the required information and click Submit.
Please note that if there is no such red bar in your account and all account information is filled in correctly, you should contact Stripe support for bugs and errors in your account on their side.
If you have any other problems or difficulties with connection, please write us in chat or to support@rainex.io. For faster problem solving, please specify the name of your Rainex account (found in Settings, Account, Account Settings tab) and briefly describe the problem.
ACH #
Rainex provides you with the ability to accept ACH payments. However, Stripe, as an intermediary, imposes its own restrictions, namely:
- You must be a US resident and only accept this payment type in US dollars.
- Your customers wishing to use ACH must also be US residents and transfer payment in US dollars only.
- For ACH to appear in Rainex, ACH Direct Debit must be enabled in your Stripe account. You can enable this feature either before integrating Stripe with Rainex or after.
Please note that the ACH switch in your Stripe account affects the addition of new payment methods of ACH type, those already added will work even if you turn ACH off.
TIP: When a customer creates their first subscription in the Customer Portal, the option to add ACH as a payment method will not be there due to the specifics of pending confirmation. However, you can bypass this limitation by creating a customer with the added payment method and their subscription yourself. In this case, logging in to the Portal using the email address specified when creating a customer, the customer will already have ACH connected and further automatic debits will be made using this method. Alternatively, the customer can add the ACH payment method themselves in the account settings after completing the creation of the first subscription.
Simply connect Stripe to your Rainex account and if the above conditions are met, ACH will automatically be added.
Clicking add payment method to the customer’s card and sending them the link will start the process of connecting ACH as a payment method for automatic recurring payments.
The process of a customer adding a payment method depends on their actions when they go to checkout.
If a customer chooses to connect a bank account and then selects their bank from the list of available banks, they only need to authorize the use of their data and log in to their bank. Thus, their payment method is added to Rainex almost at the same moment.
If the customer chooses a bank not from the list, but enters their routing and account number manually, the process is longer and consists of several steps. Rainex immediately sends them an email with instructions and a link. Within 1-2 days, Stripe will send a 1 cent transaction to the customer’s account. After receiving the transaction, the customer, following our instructions, will follow the link and enter 0.01 (transaction amount) and the transaction code (descriptor code value). The customer only has to approve the confirmation and their payment method will be added to Rainex.
ACH as a standard payment method
In this option the customer will as always receive an invoice with a payment link, following which they can take the same two paths as when adding a payment method. Having selected a bank from the list, it is only necessary to agree to the payment. Entering the data manually, the customer will need to confirm the payment in the same way through the Stripe transaction and following the link.
After the customer confirms the payment, the transaction is made in the standard 2-5 days.
PayPal #
To connect PayPal to your Rainex account, you need to fill in some data in the pop-up window that appears after you click on the PayPal bar.
The required data is not easy to find in PayPal’s vast business account, so follow the instructions below to facilitate the process.
Client ID and Client Secret
In your PayPal business account, click on the Developer bar in the top right corner and go to the PayPal Developer dashboard.
Make sure your account is in a live mode by checking that the switch in the top right corner is in the live position and not in the sandbox one.
Next, go to the Apps & Credentials tab. If you already have an app, you can use your existing credentials. If you don’t have an app yet, click Create app. In the pop-up window, simply enter a name and confirm the operation by clicking create app again.
Copy the Client ID and Client Secret by clicking on the copy icons next to these data and paste them into the corresponding fields in the PayPal connection pop-up window in your Rainex account.
Merchant ID
Hover over your username in the top right corner and click Account settings from the drop-down list.
On the settings page, click on the Business information tab.
On the page that opens, you will see the PayPal Merchant ID line.
Copy the alphanumeric code from this line and paste it into the corresponding line in the pop-up window in your Rainex account.
When all the fields are filled with the required data, click Connect to PayPal. Your integration with PayPal in your Rainex account is complete and ready to go.
If the payment gateway you are interested in is not in the list, you can leave a request by clicking on the Find gateway button, and we will consider the possibility of a new integration.
You can also request an integration in our roadmap or upvote the integration you want there if it has already been suggested by other users.
Please note that at this time the PayPal auto-pay feature is only available to US residents. This restriction depends solely on PayPal’s policy.

Payments will only be available in the currency of the country selected in your Paystack account (and in dollars for Nigeria and Kenya). Please keep this limitation in mind when adding currencies and creating pricing plans.
Click on the Paystack icon on the payment gateway setup page.
Connection consists of two steps:
Public and Secret Keys
Log in to your Paystack account (which, unlike our account in the example, must be in live mode) and go to the Settings tab. Or click on the link in the Paystack connection window in Rainex, which will take you straight to the right page.
In the API Keys & Webhooks tab, copy the Public and Secret Keys rows and paste the data from these rows one by one into the corresponding rows in the window in your Rainex account.
Webhook URL
In the window in your Rainex account, you see a link and the instructions attached to it.
Copy this link and go to your Paystack account. Here on the API Keys & Webhooks page, paste the link into the Webhook URL field.
Be sure to click Save changes in your Paystack account.
Go back to your Rainex account and click Connect to Paystack in the box.
Within a minute, Paystack’s webhooks will be linked to Rainex’s webhooks, the connection will be complete, and you can start accepting payments. Please note that you will need to refresh your browser page to view the current status of Rainex’s connection to your Paystack account.
However, from the Processing status the connection may not go to the Connected status, but to the Failed one. This may happen respectively two steps of connection due to two reasons.
- The error may be due to a failed webhook in the Paystack account
Please click on the Paystack window on the payment gateways page. In the window that appears, copy the link.
Go to the Paystack account to the API Keys & Webhooks page again. Clear the Webhook URL field and paste the copied link.
Click Save changes in Paystack account.
And then go to your Rainex account and click Reconnect. - The error may be due to incorrect filling of the Public and Secret Keys fields
In this case, click Disconnect from Paystack.
Then click again on the Paystack icon on the page of payment gateways.
Repeat the sequence of actions of the first connection in the instructions above.
After connecting a payment gateway or multiple gateways, go to Routing to connect the appropriate currencies to the gateways.
